Workshops on "Safe and Unsafe Touch" were conducted for adolescent girls at the Abhaya

Training Center and participating schools, led by Laxmi Madam, the DHO of the Government

District Maternity Hospital, Gadag. These sessions aimed to educate the girls about their

personal safety, rights, and boundaries, with a focus on understanding safe and unsafe touch.

A total of 218 girls attended and actively participated, gaining valuable awareness on crucial

safety matters. The teachers' support ensured the workshops were effectively carried out,

creating a safe and engaging learning environment. These sessions empowered the girls with

the knowledge to protect themselves, reinforcing the importance of safety and boundaries.

Feedback:

"This session was very informative and made me more aware of what’s acceptable and what’s not. I now know how to protect myself and what to do if I ever feel unsafe. The knowledge I gained from this workshop is something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. I feel much stronger and more confident about my personal safety."

-Pooja Neelakanta Reddy, 10th Std, GHS Yalishirur School

"The workshop was an eye-opener for me. I learned about things I didn’t know before, like how to identify unsafe touch and what steps to take if something happens. It was comforting to know that there are ways to talk about it and get help. I now feel more confident in understanding and protecting my rights."
